Setting Welcome Response
Welcome Response
The “Welcome Response” represents one of DIDI’s System Responses. While these responses behave somewhat similarily to typical FAQ Topics, they are used to provide response content for pre-defined user intents.
At this time, the only system intent is the Default Welcome Response. The Default Welcome response represents the content that will be provided to the user when they first interact with your bot.
System Responses are planned to be moved to their own section of the Admin Console, separate from “Topics”. However, at this time they are added in the same manner as FAQ Topics.
Creating the Welcome Topic
As stated above, System responses are currently defined as regular FAQ Topics. To set the Welcome Response, follow the instructions for Adding an FAQ and set the following fields.
Field | Value |
---|---|
Display Name | Default Welomce Intent |
Department | UNSPECIFIED |
Synonyms | [default welcome response, hi, hello] |
Welcome Speech and Text Response
Next, we need to set the welcome speech and text responses. You may provide whatever response you like, but for the purposes of this walk through we will use the following:
Speech Response:
“Welcome to My Sample Bot! By job is serve as a demo for DIDI.”
And for a Text Response:
Below are some of the topics I can help with:
- Dialogflow
- Google Cloud Platform
Tip: It is a good idea to “introduce” your bot to the user and give a brief description of what the bot can do
After creating the Welcome Response, continue on and add some FAQs
